Scan to Transfer

  • The Scan to Transfer process (to be heavily used in distribution) uses a configuration file that is stored in the C:\multidev directory of the workstation.
  • The Scan to Transfer process writes and uses a different configuration file depending on the connection method to the workstation.
    • If the user is local (or is using a screen share connection), the local workstation name is used for the configuration file (written on first use, read and used on subsequent use).

  • We are NOT likely to have RDP users connecting and using the Scan to Transfer program, but this functionality needs to be understood so that RDP configuration efforts vs local user usage is not misunderstood.
  • The Scan to Transfer program prints various documents.
  • Conversations with Sandra suggests that ALL users (main distribution and web) will print to the same printer (printer outside of the receiving room), suggesting that a SINGLE configuration file can be created and then distributed to all SF licensed workstations that may use the Scan to Transfer program.
  • Otherwise, a per workstation visit needs to be done or printed instructions (separate from documentation on the configuration usage) need to be provided to insure that the Scan to Transfer process functions properly.
  • As of 10/27/2023
    • Changes are being made to the Scan to Transfer process and more notes/documentation will need to be provided/updated.
